One of the many protests of police brutality and racism around the country and around the world sparked by the police killing of George Floyd occurred in Berkeley, California, on June 6, 2020. Thousands of people risked exposure to the virus during the COVID 19 lock down to demonstrate. This was the eleventh day of angry protest in response to a video that showed a police officer in Minneapolis pressing his knee on the back of the neck of George Floyd, who was handcuffed and on the ground. After Floyd complained he couldn’t breath, the officer kept on pressing until Floyd died.
